On My Mind: Bilik Versus Space/Phoebus Videos on Some of the Major Issues (Click Videos to View)
Readers, once again for your information I am sharing with you the campaign commercials from the Marie Bilik camp versus the Parker Space/Gail Phoebus camp for Assembly. Please watch both videos for more information for your vote tomorrow, and then see further commentary below on a few of the issues that I’ve researched.
Commentary from Marie Bilik:
Commentary from the Parker Space and Gail Phoebus team:
On the Common Core from an interview with Rob Jennings — click video below — Jennings from The New Jersey Herald had interviewed Bilik on the subject of Common Core on April 4. Click here to view the Jennings column. Though she called for a repeal of the Common Core in this later video interview with Jennings, on April 4, he advised his readers of Bilik in his column prior to this video interview: “She defended Common Core, another popular conservative target, stating that her objection is not to goal-setting but an over-emphasis on testing.”
Residency in Alexandria, Va. Does Marie Bilik live in New Jersey or in Alexandria? One of the questions that has come up for Bilik throughout her campaign is the question of her residency. Though she has maintained in a recent debate that our Debra Jane Ramirez covered (click here for the article) that she maintains a furnished apartment in Alexandria, Va and comes back to New Jersey on the weekends, other places online tie her to Alexandria, Va. She also wrote on her own Facebook Page that she moved to Virginia. Please see below the video and some information we’ve found online on this topic.
All of the info presented below is readily available on the Internet, attributing Marie Bilik with ties to Alexandria, Va.
From School Board News Today, National School Board Association (click here to view): This post notes Marie Bilik is heading up the staff in Alexandria, Va: “NSBA President C. Ed Massey noted the pair is uniquely qualified to manage the 90-member staff at NSBA’s headquarters in Alexandria, Va. Gentzel was chosen through a national search that brought dozens of job candidates to the NSBA Board of Director’s search committee.”
This President’s Corner Newsletter from Feb. 2014 (click here to view) notes Bilik as the Chief Operating Officer of the National School Board Association in Alexandria, Va. Screenshot is below noting the address in the newsletter:
Marie Bilik listed in Whitepages.com, publicly available on the internet (click here to view, see below for screenshot).
From the West Virginia School Board Association Winter Conference in 2015, listed as Alexandria, Va (click here to view see page three and screenshot below):
School Leaders Risk Management Association Board of Directors. Click here to view the page with her bio, as the National School Board Association (NSBA) liaison, listed in Alexandria.
Not so readily available on the net, but this is Marie Bilik’s campaign expense report, accessible from the state’s public information election site (click here to view), where she has outsourced work for her campaign outside of New Jersey, including a stop at Staples on Thursday, Apr. 23 for printing. See image below:
And in 2014, Marie Bilik told friends that she had moved to Alexandria, Va on Facebook.
Hope this clarifies further some of the questions that have come up during the campaign to help you all make your decisions. Get out of vote tomorrow, June 2.
