On Friday December 26, 2014 the Franklin Borough Police Department responded to a report of fraudulent activity.
Officer found that a Sussex Boro resident fell victim to a scam where she purchased a stolen cellular phone.
Detectives of Franklin investigated and found Jackie Thompson, 23, of Franklin to have sold stolen merchandise, specifically an apple I-phone.
Ms. Thompson is alleged to have stolen the cellular phone from a resident in Franklin, advertised it for sale on a social networking site, then sold it to a victim from Sussex Boro.
Detectives charged Ms. Thompson with theft and theft by deception.
Any individuals who may have purchased items from Ms. Thompson which were later found to be stolen should contact their local police department.
The complaints that were filed are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The charges may be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.
