NEWTON, NJ, July 2, 2014 – Sussex County Community College (SCCC) is offering a class for Certified Nurse Aides (CNA) who are seeking additional employment opportunities within the health care field. A CNA can enroll in a 12-hour class at SCCC this summer to become a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA). This class will be offering the “Certified Home Health Aide for Certified Nurse Aide” training program on two Saturdays, August 9th and August 16th from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 pm.
The “CHHA for CNA” training program is approved by New Jersey Board of Nursing and is taught by a team of nurses who have years of home care experience. Employment for Certified Home Health Aides is projected to increase nationally by 50% over the next 10 years. There is a high demand for CHHAs within the Sussex County and surrounding areas.
“The program curriculum acknowledges the CNAs previous training and adds the foundations for working in home care,” states Dawn Latincsics, Program Coordinator. CNAs must be currently licensed in New Jersey to apply to the training program.
