CP Professional Services Ranks Within Top Three of NJBIZ Best Places to Work

SPARTA, NJ – CP Professional Services in Sparta was ranked within the top three companies to work for in New Jersey for small/medium businesses by the publication NJBIZ for 2016.

The company was the only one within Sussex County to garner the top three ranking. There were 70 companies out of the small/medium business category that were picked, and then evaluated by employees of each company chosen for the list.

CP Professional Services, formed in May 2012, has approximately 50 employees in total. The company, which has several divisions includes: CP Life Sciences, CP Engineers, CP Architecture and CP Construction Management.

The company also has an office in Morris County’s Florham Park and it has just expanded operations to include a new office on the West Coast in San Diego.

How did NJBIZ receive feedback about the rankings that generated the list of best companies? A third party surveyed employees who anonymously answered a comprehensive and confidential questionnaire about their workplace. In CP’s case, 95 percent of the company’s employees responded to the survey request.

The original list of companies nominated was 100 and then whittled down to 70 following the responses from employees.

NJBIZ opens up the Best Places to Work program to companies that are in business within the state minimally a year, with no less than 15 employees in the small/medium business category.

The survey is broken down into several parts. Weaknesses and strengths are analyzed from employee responses collected and are tallied with information about the employer, including workplace practices, policies and benefits.

What were some of the traits that made employees at CP Professional Services consider the company a great place to work? The stimulating work environment, the professional growth they said they could attain, the outstanding benefits and a work environment with a fun and positive culture, were some of the qualities that CP Professional Services’ employees were impressed with.

“CP has always recognized the importance of providing a great work environment to our team of professionals,” said Joe Toscano, one of the company’s managing members. “We work very hard to ensure advancement and growth opportunities within our organization, recognition of employees and their outstanding achievements, great pay, health and 401K benefits, diversity, flexible work schedules, and ensuring that we have fun as we conduct the work we do.”

While some companies have developed a tradition of cutbacks, CP offers a comprehensive benefits plans including medical, dental, vision and life insurance. Matching 401K plans and profit sharing are other perks. Toscano also said employees receive generous paid vacation time.

Team-building events are additionally part of the norm at CP Professional Services. Once quarterly, the company closes for a half day to participate in these team-building events. Once weekly, there is a company barbecue on site on Thursdays, bagels each Friday and coffee provided daily.

In the fall of 2015, CP Professional Services achieved the ranking of one of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in New Jersey.
