CDS and Warrant Arrest on Motor Vehicle Stop in Newton
On 8/16/14 at 3:08p.m., Ptl. Michael Wolanski stopped a motor vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Stuart Street and Diller Avenue.
Subsequent investigation revealed that a passenger in the vehicle, Robert J. Slater, age 34, of Ogdensburg had an outstanding warrant out of the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department for non-support. A search incident to arrest revealed that Slater was also in possession of (10) wax folds of suspected heroin. As a result, Slater was arrested and charged with the following offense.
N.J.S. 2C:35-10(a)(1) 3rd Degree – Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
Additional active warrants out of Newark and Ogdensburg totaling $700.00 were also located for Slater.
He was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in default pending an 8/20/14 court appearance.
