Theft Over $1,000 in Medication – Two Arrests Made, One Outstanding
FRANKLIN, NJ – On December 18, 2015, Franklin Police responded to a reported theft from the Weis Supermarkets.
The complainant alleged that three individuals had taken without first purchasing over $1000.00 worth of over the counter medication.
The Franklin Borough Police Department Detective Bureau determined the three suspects to be David Barretto, 32, of Franklin, Jacklyn M. Barretto, 30, of Franklin and Matt Bergen, 26, of Stockholm.
All three are alleged to have entered the store, conceal, and leave without first purchasing approximately $1,000 worth of over-the-counter medication.
Jacklyn Barretto and David Barretto were severed with a complaint warrant in the Hudson County Jail on 1/18/2016, where they are currently being held on unrelated charges. Bail was set at $20,000 with no ten-percent option for the theft charge in Franklin for each of them.
Matthew Bergen is currently wanted. Bail is set at $20,000 with no ten percent option. If anyone sees Matthew Bergen they are asked to contact their local law enforcement agency immediately.
The complaints that were filed are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The charges may be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.
