Giant Gymnastics Hosts ‘Play for Paws’ Event to Benefit O.S.C.A.R.
SPARTA, NJ – Recently Giant Gymnastics of Sparta hosted a special event to help raise awareness and funds for One Step Closer Animal Rescue (O.S.C.A.R.). Owners of the gym, Jennifer Packard and John Skorski, once again reached out to help support the community they live in. This time they did so by hosting an adoption day at their Sparta location. With over a dozen kittens and almost as many dogs on site waiting to meet their forever families, the day was met with sunshine and plenty of hands to give love and attention to these furry friends.
They also had their coaches in the gym for an Open Gym play session- any child that donated $5 to O.S.C.A.R. could come play in the gym. Many of Giant Gymnastics’ gymnasts came out to support the event, enjoying playing with the kittens and dogs as much as they enjoyed their time in the gym.
Coaches Jordan Sullivan and Carly Krohn both volunteered their time for the day as the rescue is one they support.
“We adopted Khloe and Aurora from them last July,” reminisced Sullivan.
The adoption day was a way to give back to the organization for Sullivan.
O.S.C.A.R. is a non-profit organization based in Sparta. According to their website they “rescue pets from overcrowded shelters where animals are euthanized due to lack of space. O.S.C.A.R. volunteers care for these pets in our network of foster homes where they receive the loving care they deserve.”
