Burglary in Byram Township

On 1-23-15, the Byram Twp. Police Department responded to 12 Little Paint Way for a report of a burglary in progress. When the officers arrived, they found that the caller, a retired law enforcement officer, was giving a female suspect verbal commands to stay on the ground. After a brief investigation, it was determined that the suspect, Dana M. Cannon of 14 Little Paint Way entered an apartment, while the victim was not home and without the victim’s permission in order to take an item out of the apartment. During the investigation, it was learned that Cannon had an active criminal warrant ouf of Byram Twp. Cannon was arrested and transported to the station for processing. Cannon was processed, charged with Burglary and lodged in the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $15,000.00 bail with no 10% option as well as $350.00 bail for the active criminal warrant. Cannon has a pending first appearance at Superior Court in Sussex County.
