Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance and Drug Paraphernalia
On 12/5/13 at 10:17p.m., Ptl. John Flanagan was conducting traffic enforcement on Sparta Avenue when he observed a 2007 Red Honda Fit traveling westbound on Sparta Avenue with a headlight out. A subsequent motor vehicle stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle, Thomas Morgenthien, age 27, of Sparta Avenue, Newton was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe.
Morgenthien was taken into custody, processed and served with a complaint summons charging him with the following:
N.J.S. 2C:35-10A(4) Possession of C.D.S. (Under 50grams of Marijuana) Disorderly Persons Offense
N.J.S. 2C:36-2 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (a glass pipe) Disorderly Persons Offense
Morgenthien was also issued a summons for 39:3-66 for having a headlight out.
Case pending a 1/14/14 appearance in Newton Municipal Court.
