Sexual Harassment Settlement Agreement Reached – Complaint from Previous Sheriff’s Administration

The County of Sussex reached a settlement agreement regarding a complaint that originated under the previous Sussex County Sheriff’s Administration. The agreement was negotiated by Counsel for the County’s insurance company.

An internal investigation into a sexual harassment complaint previously completed in 2010 concluded that departmental rules, regulations and County policies were violated. All parties involved that violated departmental rules, regulations and County policies were disciplined.

This incident took place and was investigated prior to Sheriff Strada being elected. Sheriff Michael F. Strada does not condone nor tolerate any type of harassment in the workplace and under his command corrective measures have been put into place to prevent further instances of harassment.
