Another Naloxone (Narcan) Save in Franklin
FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ – On August 19, 2015 the Franklin Police Department received a report of an unresponsive male who may have overdosed on heroin.
The Franklin Borough Police Department and the Sparta First Aid Squad responded.
Patrol Officers who responded to assist located a 22 year old male in a residence that appeared to be unresponsive. Officers quickly determined that the male had overdosed on an opiate based narcotic, specifically heroin. First responding – Franklin Borough Police Officers administered a dose of naloxone, a medication used to reverse the effects of an opiate overdose. A short time later, the male became responsive, breathing on his own, and was transported to a nearby medical facility for evaluation and any necessary medical treatment.
The matter is still under investigation.
No complaints were filed at the time.
