Three Arrested in Franklin for Heroin Distribution
On February 26, 2015 the Franklin Borough Police Department conducted a narcotics investigation in the Borough.
The investigation led to the arrest of Jason Brunell, 34, of Franklin, Katelynn Shipps, 23 years of age, of Wantage, New Jersey, and Christopher Ambrose, 21 years of age of Hamburg New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
During the course of the investigation all three above named defendants were allegedly found to possess an undisclosed amount of heroin. All three were also allegedly involved in the sale of heroin throughout Franklin Borough.
Mr. Brunell was charged with possession of heroin and possession with intent to distribute heroin. Mr. Ambrose was charged with possession of heroin and possession with intent to distribute heroin, along with possession of various pieces of drug paraphernalia, hypodermic needles, and use of a controlled dangerous substance. Ms. Shipps was charged with possession of heroin and possession with intent to distribute heroin , along with possession of various pieces of drug paraphernalia, hypodermic needles, and use of a controlled dangerous substance.
All three were transported to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $20,000 with no ten percent option. Ms. Shipps was also found to have two outstanding warrants from Fair Lawn and Byram for $1,000 each.
The complaints that were filed are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The charges may be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.
