Suspicious Incident at Hopatcong Enrite Gas Station

ANY OTHER INFORMATION: A resident came into the police station to report a possible fraud.  He stated he got gas at the Enrite gas station in the amount of $40.58. He used a credit card to pay for the gas and asked for a receipt.  The attendant told him he had to go inside to make a receipt. The complainant thought this was suspicious because you get the receipt from the pump not from inside. The attendant returned and gave him a receipt.  On 07/10/14 the complainant found that Enrite charged him the $40.48 plus $20.00.  The complainant went to Enrite and showed this to the same attendant.  That attendant gave him $20.00 out of his pocket.

The Hopatcong Police Department is investigating this. We are asking that if anyone had a similar situation at this Enrite, please check their credit card statement. If  there is a double charge report this to the Hopatcong Police Department.
