Narcan Save in Newton
On 1/2/15 at 2:38p.m., Newton Police responded to the Quick Check convenience store on Sparta Avenue for a report of an unconscious 24 year old male in the bathroom.
Upon arrival at the scene, patrols gained access to the bathroom and located the unconscious male. Patrols also spoke with friends of the victim who confirmed that he had recently ingested heroin coupled with their own observations of the male which were consistent with the signs and symptoms of a drug overdose.
As a result, responding patrols administered Narcan and performed rescue breathing which subsequently led to the male regaining consciousness. He was then transported to Newton Medical Center by the Newton First Aid Squad.
Investigating Officers:
Patrolman John Flanagan, Sgt. Frank Philhower, Ptl. Shawn Burke
