Project Self-Sufficiency Offers Career & Job Fair
SUSSEX COUNTY – Area residents are invited to jump start their job search at a Career & Job Fair at Project Self-Sufficiency on Thursday, October 22nd, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Job seekers, those who need assistance with job search techniques, and people who need help navigating their current workplace are encouraged to attend. Representatives from local businesses and schools will be on hand to promote job openings and educational opportunities. Interview skills workshops will allow participants to practice interview techniques and obtain valuable feedback from seasoned professionals. Kim Morlock, Assistant Vice President at First Hope Bank, will offer a free presentation about networking to attendees. The Career & Job Fair is free and open to the public; no registration is required. Project Self-Sufficiency is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.
“The Career & Job Fair will offer those who are currently seeking work the opportunity to network with other job seekers, get leads on employment opportunities and gain the skills and confidence necessary to land their next job,” noted Project Self-Sufficiency Career Center Coordinator Kyersten Rozanski.
Morlock’s presentation will be offered several times during the course of the four-hour fair. Titled “How to Network & Market Yourself to Employees,” Morlock will offer tips on everything from resume writing to use of social relationships to appropriate follow-up methods. The interview skills sessions, “Perfect Your Interview,” will allow career fair attendees to get immediate feedback on their performance during an interview from professionals currently working in the field.
