Traffic Alert- Ex-Newton Fire Chief Charles A. Thom Funeral Services

Newton – On Monday, December 2, 2013, the viewing for Ex-Newton Fire Chief, Retired Sussex County Fire Marshal and Sussex County Executive Committeeman Charles A. Thom will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Newton at 54 High Street, Newton from 3:00p.m.-9:00p.m.    As a result, the following traffic conditions will be in effect:  Parking will be prohibited entirely on Church Street and on Main Street (From Halsted to Spring Street). Church Street will also be closed to traffic at that time.

On Tuesday, December 3, 2013, the funeral mass for Thom will be held at 10:00a.m. at the St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church at 26 Halsted Street, Newton.  In preparation for the funeral mass, parking will be prohibited within the following areas: Church Street, Halsted Street (from Madison to Main Street), Spring Street (from Main to Moran Street) and Lawnwood Avenue.   Woodside Avenue southbound will be closed (from Sparta Avenue to Lawnwood Avenue) and Church Street will also be closed to motorists.
