Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council Honors Diane Taylor and Phillip Lid at ‘Brazilian Night’ Benefit
SUSSEX COUNTY – The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council (SCAHC) is hosting a benefit event with its first Brazilian Night – Dinner, Dance & Auction At Perona Farms in Andover on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015. Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., followed with dinner and a cash bar at 7:15 p.m.
The evening planned is a night of food and fun that features…”no speeches!” Attendees can enjoy Brazilian signature cocktails, “Caipiroska” and “Caipirinha,” along with Brazilian cuisine featured as part of the sit down dinner. A Brazilian DJ as well as Brazilian dancers will round out the evening, along with the silent and live auction.
Two honorees will be recognized during the festivities, Diane Taylor, Founder of Pass it Along, a youth empowerment organization, and Phillip Lid, singer/songwriter, orchestral conductor and actor.
Thorlabs is a double platinum sponsor of the event and other major sponsors include Eastern Propane and the Nicholson family and Atlantic Health’s Newton Medical Center.
Alexandra Miller, Psy.D, is a new member of the SCAHC board, who grew up with a Brazilian mother and spent two years in Rio de Janeiro.
“I have been to a lot of these benefit events for other good causes and am hoping to make this one a true ‘night out,’” Miller said. “Removing the speeches element and adding Brazilian dancers is a start – all to support the arts.”
SCAHC supports and empowers artists, musicians, writers and culture in the community. The event will be an evening of entertainment, dancing, networking and creativity. Tickets are $100 per person. To purchase tickets, contact (973)383-0027 or email scahc@scahc.org.
