Suspect Possessing CDS Jumps from Window and Resists Arrest in Franklin
FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ – On March 2, 2016, Franklin Police responded to a residence on Walsh Road in the Borough after receiving information that a male wanted by the Superior Court of Sussex County was hiding there.
An investigation found that Nicholas B. Barrise, 20, of Franklin NJ was in the residence. Detective Vander Ploeg and Patrols responded to the residence. At that time officers were trying to make contact with him, Mr. Barrise, jumped out of a second story window, however was immediately apprehended by Detective Vander Ploeg, despite his attempts to resist arrest. Mr. Barrise was arrested at about 3:30PM on Walsh Road.
Detective Vander Ploeg located an undisclosed amount of two different types of a controlled dangerous substance on Barrise.
Barrise was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled dangerous substance and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $20,000 with no 10 percent option. He was lodged in the Keogh Dwyer Correctional facility in lieu of bail and in lieu of the no bail warrant from the Superior Court.
The complaints that were filed are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The charges may be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.
