Burglary and Theft Arrest In Newton
On 10/16/14 at 4:34p.m., Newton Police officers were dispatched to Donald Avenue to investigate a
9-1-1 call reporting a male individual on a bicycle possibly burglarizing parked motor vehicles. Police responded to the area and located a male matching the description to be present at Pine Street Park. This individual was identified as Adam Worley, age 25, of Ashford Street, Newton.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Worley had previously burglarized a vehicle on Donald Avenue and had also stolen a wallet containing cash/credit cards from a vehicle on Mason Avenue. In addition, Worley was found to be in possession of a bicycle which had been reported stolen on 10/16/14 from a Nelson Street residence.
Besides the complainant, patrols were assisted by two local residents who supplied police with not only Worley’s present location but also cell phone video of him operating the stolen bicycle.
As a result, Worley was charged with the following offenses:
N.J.S. 2C:18-2A(1) Burglary (3rd Degree) (2 Counts)
N.J.S. 2C:20-3a Theft of Moveable Property (3rd Degree) Bicycle
N.J.S. 2C:20-3a Theft of Moveable Property (Disorderly Persons) Wallet/Credit Cards/Cash.
Worley was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in default of $11,500.00 no 10% bail set by Judge Mulhern . Case pending a 10/22/14 appearance in Sussex County Superior Court.
