Arrest for Theft and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card
On 3/9/15 at 4:52p.m., Newton Police received a report from a Spring Street resident indicating that someone had stolen her debit card and used it to make unauthorized ATM withdrawals from the Rite-Aid and Spring Street Liquor stores on 3/7/15 and 3/9/15 totaling $426.50.
Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Joshua A. Sliker, age 28, who resides at another Spring Street address. Sliker stole the victim’s debit card and made cash withdrawals from the ATM machines at both local businesses.
As a result, Sliker was charged with the following offenses:
N.J.S. 2C:21-6c Theft of a Credit Card 4th Degree (2 Counts)
N.J.S. 2C:21-6h Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card 3rd Degree (3 Counts)
Sliker was processed and released pending a 3/24/15 appearance in Sussex County Superior Court.
