Byram – Burglary, Theft and 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
BYRAM – Byram Twp. Police Department received a call about a suspicious female who knocked on a resident’s door and asked to use the bathroom. The female, later identified as Melinda A. Molnar of Byram Twp. then stated she was at the wrong residence and that she was looking for a friend of hers. The officers who responded were familiar with the person Molnar was looking for and proceeded to that individual’s residence, several houses down the street. When they arrived, they found Molnar inside the residence with her two year old child. Molnar exited the residence and when the homeowner responded to the scene, he advised patrols that Molnar was not allowed to be inside the residence. Molnar was arrested and was found to be in possession of several types of prescription medication. It was then learned that Molar had stolen several types of prescription medication from inside the residence. Molnar was charged with Burglary, Theft and 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Molnar was then lodged in the Sussex County Jail in lieu fo $50,000.00 with a 10% option.
