Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance, Drug Paraphernalia and Handicap Parking Violation in Byram
BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ – On 11-7-15, a Byram Twp. Police Officer observed a vehicle parked in a Handicap parking spot at McDonald’s. No Handicap Permit was visible so a motor vehicle stop was initiated and while speaking to the driver, Rafael A. Rodriguez, the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle produced a quantity of marijuana, prescription Seroquel pills in an unmarked prescription pill bottle and several cigar wraps. Rodriguez was arrested and transported to the station for processing. Rodriguez was charged with the following and released pending a Sussex County Superior Court first appearance court date: Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance (Seroquel), Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle and Handicap Parking Violation.
