Sussex County Sheriff’s Office Gears Up for Crimestoppers 5K/10K
SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – The Sussex County Fairgrounds will be host to the annual hundreds of runners and walkers who come to support the annual Sussex County Sheriff’s Crimestoppers 5K/10K, to be held this year on Saturday, September 6.
The non-profit Sussex County Crime Stoppers sustains from donations from local businesses and individuals, as well as from the support of events like this 5K/10K, plus the Crime Stoppers annual dinner benefit event.
The funds raised for the Sussex County Crime Stoppers enable the group the ability to pay up to a $1,000 reward to those who have information that leads to the arrest and indictment of criminals. Tips are made anonymously and the tipster is given a code number as a reference, to protect their identity. Once a criminal has been arrested and indictment, payout is made to the tipster in cash.
A volunteer civilian board oversees the reward program and business aspects of the Sussex County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers not-for-profit corporation.
