Enjoy ‘Thursdays on the Green’ at Sussex County Community College
NEWTON, NJ – A Thursday night tradition in Sussex County over the summers is the ‘Thursdays on the Green’ event at Sussex County Community College.
Thursdays on the Green has been taking place each summer since 2002, when it started as “Music on the Green.” Since then, it has also included theater performances and movies.
The event is free to the public on Thursdays beginning at 6:30 p.m. Prior to that, vendors and artisans arrive at 6:00 p.m. for a family festival that also includes giveaways.
Through the rest of this month, the free concerts include:
Ska and Cumbia Rhythms Week at SCCC on Thursday, with headliner Viva Vallenato, and opening act, No Vertebrae. No Vertebrae is assembled with four Kittatinny students and three graduates.
Rock n’ Roll All Night Week at SCCC is next up, with headliner Phil ‘N The Void as the headlining act, with the Tri-State Rockers as the opening act.
Thursdays on the Green is sponsored in part by Lakeland Bank, FirstEnergy Foundation, SCCC Adjunct Faculty, Applebee’s, CP Engineers & Architecture, and Eastern Propane.
