Hopatcong Chiefs Football Team Advances to Playoffs
Hopatcong, NJ – On a windy, cold, Saturday, November 9th was the last regular game of the season for the Chiefs football team but it was not the end. The Chiefs head to their first game of the state playoffs Friday, November 15th, against Hasbrouck Heights. It has been an extraordinary season as the team finishes with a 6-3 record. According to Coach Jerry Venturino, this Chiefs team is the 8th team in school history to have successfully ended with 6 or more wins.
As the new Head Coach this year, Venturino has implemented “THE TEAM” concept where everyone works together for the success of “THE TEAM”. From the coaches, players, cheerleaders, band, students, parents, and fans they all play a part. The coaches and players work hard every day on and off the field. The players know that everything they do is for “THE TEAM”; making sure they do well in school, representing the team in a respectful manner on and off the field and working hard when they are on the field. The vibe from the stands transcends onto the field, whether it’s the band playing the garbage cans, the student section cheering with painted faces or the fans with their horns at the ready. It creates an atmosphere like no other.
We are Hopatcong, we are family, we are #chiefnation.
