Arrest in Newton for CDS and Drug Paraphernalia

NEWTON – On 9/7/14 at 12:43a.m., Sgt. Michael Monaco was on patrol in the area of Maple Avenue when he observed a motor vehicle with an inoperable brake light.

Sgt. Monaco conducted a motor vehicle stop and subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Antonio J. Sebastiano, age 21, of Barrett Avenue, Newton, NJ.

Sebastiano was found in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and a marijuana smoking pipe. As a result, he was charged with the following offenses:

N.J.S 2C:35-10a   Unlawful Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance (Marijuana-

(Less than 50 grams)

N.J.S. 2C:36-2      Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

39:4-49.1               Possession of CDS in Motor Vehicle

39:3-66                  Maintenance of Lamps

Sebastiano was processed and released pending future court appearance.
