Obstruction and Foot Pursuit in Newton

NEWTON, NJ – On 1/13/16 at 5:23p.m., Newton Police Detectives located Joshua Sliker Jr., age 29, of Madison Street, Newton in the area of the intersection of Washington Street and Madison Street.  Sliker had a no bail warrant that was issued by the New Jersey Superior Court for a probation violation.  While in the process of speaking with him and awaiting confirmation of the warrant, Sliker ran from officers and was quickly apprehended in the area of 17 Madison Street after a brief foot pursuit.

As a result, Sliker was arrested on the outstanding warrant and also charged with the following offense before being lodged in the Sussex County Jail on the no bail warrant.
