Possession of Heroin, CDS and Drug Paraphernalia in a Motor Vehicle
BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ – On 9-26-15, a Byram Twp. Police Officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Rt. 206. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and while speaking to the driver, Katherine D. Salerno of Newton, the officer observed drug paraphernalia inside her vehicle. Salerno later admitted to possessing a hypodermic syringe and a glass smoking device used to smoke crack-cocaine out of. A further search of Salerno’s vehicle produced a quantity of heroin, several other types of prescription controlled dangerous substances and more hypodermic syringes. Salerno was arrested and transported to the station where she was charged with the following and released pending a mandatory first appearance court date in the Sussex County Superior Court: Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule V Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle and Speeding.
