Motor Vehicle Accident Pedestrian Struck
On May 12, 2014 the Franklin Police Department investigated a serious motor vehicle accident, where a pedestrian was struck by an automobile.
The pedestrian sustained serious bodily injury.
After an investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Jason L. Wagoner, 36, of Andover Township was charged with Driving While under the influence, Driving with a suspended driver’s license, and driving with no liability insurance.
Detectives from Franklin resumed an investigation which resulted with Mr. Wagoner being charged with assault by auto (reckless driving), a fourth degree crime, and assault by auto (driving while impaired), a third degree crime. Bail was set at $15,000 with no ten percent option.
Mr. Wagoner was taken into custody at his residence, with the assistance of the Andover Township Police Department on September 4, 2014 at approximately 11:00PM.
Mr. Wagoner was lodged in the Sussex County jail in lieu of bail.
The complaints that were filed are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The charges may be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.
