DWI from Prescription Medication
NAME OF THE ACCUSED: Victoria Arias-Sutton
ACCUSED LIVES IN: Washington Street Landing
REASON FOR THE STOP: Ran a red light
CHARGES AGAINST THE ACCUSED: DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Observe Signal
ANY OTHER INFORMATION: Officer Bianculli was parked by Hopatchung when he saw a vehicle go through a yellow light. Three seconds later another vehicle followed through the red light. (The first vehicle was Sutton’s friend that she was following). Officer Bianculli stopped this 2nd vehicle. Officer Bianculli who is a DRE (Drug Recognition Expert) found signs of intoxication. He questioned Sutton who told him she took prescription medication. Officer Bianculli gave Sutton Field Sobriety Tests which she failed. She was arrested and taken to headquarters. She was given further testing by Officer Bianculli. She was then processed, charged and later released to a friend.
Driving under the influence of a drug is DWI. It does not matter if that drug is from a prescription..
