DWI and Careless Driving in Byram

On 7-17-14, a Byram Twp. Police Officer observed the vehicle driving in front of him swerve from side to side and almost leave the roadway. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and while speaking to the driver, Terence M. Fitzpatrick of Mt. Arlington, the officer felt that Fitzpatrick may be intoxicated. Fitzpatrick was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed. Fitzpatrick was arrested and transported to the station where he consented to and failed two breath tests. Fitzpatrick was charged with the following and released to a family member pending a mandatory Byram Twp. Municipal Court date; Careless Driving and Driving While Intoxicated.
