Multi-Jurisdictional Investigation Leads to Arrest for Heroin Distribution
NEWTON, NJ – On November 19, 2015, a multi-jurisdictional investigation conducted by the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force, State Parole Officers and the Newton Police Department resulted in the arrest of Joseph M. McGlinch, age 32 of Trinity Street, Newton.
McGlinch was observed entering the parking lot of the Newton Weis and a motor vehicle stop was initiated. Subsequent investigation resulted in McGlinch being arrested and found to be in possession of 30 bags of heroin.
As a result, he was charged with the following offenses:
N.J.S. 2C:35-5a(1)B(3) Possession of Heroin with Intent To Distribute 3rd Degree
N.J.S. 2C:35-7.1A Possession of Heroin with Intent To Distribute within 500 Feet of a Public Park (Memory) 2nd Degree.
McGlinch was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in default of $132,500.00 n0 10% bail set by Judge John Mulhern.
Case pending an 11/25/15 court appearance.
