Suspicious Motor Vehicle Leads to Arrest in Franklin
FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ – On Tuesday – September 1, 2015 at approximately 3:00 PM Franklin Patrol stopped a motor vehicle on Main Street after residents reported the vehicle as suspicious. Franklin patrols located the vehicle and observed the driver of the vehicle to have allegedly committed numerous infractions.
During the motor vehicle stop, officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of three individuals who were found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance specifically heroin. Officers seized an undetermined amount of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Hiralall Narandra, 39, of West Orange, Persaud Navindra 26, of West Orange, and Kimberly Baird, 23, of Landing were all found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of heroin. Persaud Navindra was found to have an outstanding traffic warrant from West Orange, New Jersey and further allegedly operating a vehicle while his driving privileges were suspended.
All were issued criminal complaints for multiple narcotics violations. Mr. Hiralall Narandra was also alleged to be in possession of a stolen bank check. He was also charged with theft.
All were released pending an appearance is Superior Court.
The complaints that were filed are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The charges may be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.
