Byram Township Police Department – Person Charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Administration of the Law
On 4-5-14, Stanhope P.D. brought an arrestee, Paula M. Durnian to Byram P.D. headquarters for processing. After Durnian was processed, she was leaving the police station with the Stanhope P.D. officer when she began to yell profanities at the officers while outside the station. Durnian refused to get into the police car and when advised that if she kept yelling profanities, she would be arrested, Durnian continued to yell and attempted to spit at the Byram Twp. officer. When the officer tried to physically restrain Durnian, she resisted arrest. Durnian was taken back into the station and processed for the new charges. While being led into the station and during the processing, Durnian attempted to kick the officers. Also during the processing, Durnian threatened to shoot one of the officers with their own gun. When Durnian’s friend arrived to pick up Durnian, she at first refused to leave the police station. Durnian eventually voluntarily left the police station. She was charged with the following pending a mandatory Byram Twp. Municipal Court date: Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing the Administration of Law.
