READING, PA — Jenna Harper, of Glenwood, NJ, is serving as Orientation Weekend Leader at Alvernia University for the full Orientation Weekend, Aug. 21-24, 2014. Harper is a Occupational Therapy major at Alvernia and a Vernon Township High School graduate.
An Orientation Weekend Leader (OWL) or Orientation Assistant (OA) is a current Alvernia University student who plays an integral role in New Student Orientation. The main role of all OWLs and OAs is to assist in making new students feel welcome. OWLs and OAs develop leadership skills and meet new people. The program is competitive, and involves a application process, in-person interviews, good academic standing, and training.
