Narcotics Investigation in Franklin Leads to Multiple Arrests
FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ – Following multiple complaints of narcotics activity in the Borough near and around Main Street and Brick Row the Franklin Borough Police Department conducted a narcotics investigation.
Residents complained of what appeared to be multiple narcotics transactions occurring around both areas.
Following an investigation, Detectives alleged Ms. Gennifer L. Martin, 39, of Franklin and Sammuel V. Kirkpatrick, 35, of Franklin were selling heroin.
On November 17, 2015 at about 6:00PM– Mr. Kirkpatrick was arrested for distribution of narcotics related offenses and was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin and cocaine when he was arrested.
On November 17, 2015 at about 8:00PM – Ms. Martin was also arrested, for narcotics distribution related offenses and found to have lodged/concealed the following in a body cavity at the time of her arrest: heroin, a substance used to defraud a drug test, and Suboxone.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was charged with Distribution of heroin, distribution of heroin within a school zone, distribution of heroin within 500 feet of a public building, along with multiple other narcotics offenses. His bail was set at $125,000 with no ten percent option. He was transported to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of bail.
Ms. Martin was charged with Distribution of heroin, distribution of heroin within a school zone, distribution of heroin within 500 feet of a public building, along with multiple other narcotics offenses. She was also charged with possessing a substance used to defraud a drug test. Her bail was also set at $125,000 with no ten percent option. She was transported to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of bail.
The investigation is ongoing.
The complaints that were filed are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The charges may be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.
