SCCC Offers Info Session on Free Healthcare Training and Certification
NEWTON, NJ – October 3, 2014 –Individuals interested in training to become a Certified Nurse Aide, Home Health Aide, Coding and Billing Specialist, EKG or Phlebotomy Technician, or Medical Office Assistant are invited to attend an information session at Sussex County Community College. The information sessions will be held on Wednesday, October 8 at 6:00 p.m. and Friday, October 17 at 12:30 p.m.
SCCC has been selected for participation in the Health Professions Opportunity Grant (HPOG) Program. This federally funded demonstration project provides free training and support to income qualified individuals wishing to pursue careers in the growing field of health care. Through the assistance of the HPOG, eligible candidates will be selected through a lottery system to receive free training. The grant is a funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families.
