Arrest- Possession of CDS, Drug Paraphernalia, Hindering Apprehension
On June 30, 2014 at approximately 1:30p.m., Newton Police were conducting an investigation into an alleged assault that reportedly occurred at a Main Street residence. Subsequently, it was discovered that the suspect, namely Eric Love, had previously provided Newton Police officers with a false name and date of birth in order to avoid being arrested on an active 2003 Morris County Superior Court contempt of court warrant (no bail) and several other warrants from other local municipalities.
Newton Police arrested Eric Love, age 47, of Foster Street, Newton. At the time of his arrest, Love was also found to be in possession of a small bag of marijuana (under 50grams) and a marijuana pipe.
As a result, Love was charged with the following offenses:
N.J.S. 2C:35-10a(4) Possession of CDS (Marijuana under 50 grams) (Disorderly Persons)
N.J.S. 36-2a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Disorderly Persons)
N.J.S.2C:29-3 Hindering Apprehension (Disorderly Persons)
Love was processed and released to the Morris County Sheriff’s Department on the outstanding warrant(s).
